Reference Week

I love sharing great references. This week, here are two worth checking out.

1. The Model Book Contract

Fellow writer and lawyer, Jennifer Klepper, recently posted an excellent link on the Women’s Fiction Writers Association Facebook page. The post referenced a model book contract from the Authors Guild which covers a wide range of clauses like the grant of rights, copyright, royalties, and termination. The AG contract also includes insightful annotations with each section. Thank you, Jennifer!

If you need more information on publishing contracts, see our previous post about the 9 Major Deal Points in a book contract.

2. The Federal Bureau of Investigation

If you need a reference book for a realistic picture of how the FBI operates, Jerri Williams’ FBI Myths and Misconceptions: A Manual for Armchair Detectives is spot on.

Reference FBI

Jerri is a retired Special Agent and crime novelist. Her popular true-crime podcast interviews retired FBI agents about their careers and case files. Exciting details from the experts at the FBI!

Enjoy!
